October 19th, 2012.
So, after 12 days and as many premieres, it's time for the Closing Gala of the event, which is with the premiere for a remake of Charles Dickens' lengthy "Great Expectations" (I say 'lengthy' rather than 'classic' because I read it in High School, and it was definitely lengthy).
The question is : would it involve a cavalcade of stars from all throughout the movies featured in the festival, would it rain almost incessantly, and would I (just one last time) get to sleep around midnight with a full work day to look forward to mere 5 hours after going to sleep? I think we all know the answer to several of those questions...
Here's how it went down.
The list of London Film Festival Premiere journals for 2012:
Frankenweenie with Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter, Blood with Paul Bettany, Ginger and Rosa with Elle Fanning, Rust and Bone with Marion Cotillard, Antiviral with Sarah Gadon, Hyde Park on Hudson with Bill Murray, The Sessions with Helen Hunt, Quartet with Dustin Hoffman and Maggie Smith, Argo with Ben Affleck Bryan Cranston and John Goodman, and Crossfire Hurricane with The Rolling Stones.
So that's that. I'm not getting an early mark for the James Bond premiere tomorrow, so let's see how that far gets me. I'm hoping at least to the nearest Tube Station, which is about 400m from the venue.
Until Next (then) Time!
