January 12th, 2013.
I've only just gotten back to London after a month away, and a mere day after the premiere of "Django Unchained" (where Quentin Tarantino signed a photo I'd taken of him at the premiere of Inglourious Basterds!!) London was hosting another premiere - a very small one barely counting as a premiere owing to a lack of (i) red carpet, (ii) security staff, (iii) barriers.
Still.... I'm not so long back in the UK that I'm going to say no to a premiere just because I've never heard of the movie, stars or directors.
It's called "American Mary" and it appears to be a horror movie. That's all I know. Also, I'm tragically single (did you know?). Here's how it went down..
So.... what exactly was this? Does it really count as a premiere? I'm not sure. The analyst in me likes occasionally looking at whether journals of BIG events where there is lots of coverage from hundreds of attendees get looked at more than small niche events with fewer fans but a lot less coverage. Is it, in other words, generically better to be a small fish in a big pond, or a medium sized fish in a small pond?
All that aside, it's another for "The Archive of Movie Premieres" and that's no bad thing (right?)
Until next time!
