When I learned about a week ago that there had been a photocall in Sydney for the 20-years-later Independence Day sequel, I did a quick search online for whether (or why) there would be (or wouldn't be) one in London. I mean, I've seen the trailer : they frikkin' ruin the city Iive in - so where's the compensatory premiere??
The answer is : there isn't one. But hidden among the more unusual corners of The Web was not merely a rumour, but a full press release talking about a Virgin Train unveiling, today, at Euston Station, to publicise the film.
Because, you know. Trains. In a science fiction story about aliens.
Here's how it went down:
So... that was rather enjoyable. And I would like to give thanks to the nice security guy who took pity on my distant position and invited me to quickly join the far edge of the ramp used by the paparazzi : the last half dozen or so photos couldn't have been taken without that bit of kindness :)
So, with another premiere for The Archive of Movie Premieres, that's it for a little while, premiere-wise. As at right now, the only upcoming premiere I know about is for The Absolutely Fabulous premiere at the end of the month. I guess I'll try to find something to do in the meantime.
Until next time!
PS. If you want to know whenever I post a new premiere journal, feel free to follow me on twitter @berndt2_photo or on facebook by clicking here. You can also share this journal, comment on it below, or smuggle me into events I technically shouldn't be in out of the kindness of your heart .(I'm fairly discreet, long 80-200mm lens notwithstanding).
