October 17th, 2017.
With London Film Festival and its riches of premieres-as-far-as-the-eye-can-see now just a distant '48 hours ago' memory, my first post-BFI LFF premiere was scheduled at the Curzon Chelsea, a cinema I'd never photographed a premiere at. Not just that, but a rather big star I'd never photographed was set to attend. "I've travelled further for less" I thought to myself, not realising how close to skirting the extremities of that statement I'd be making.
Here's how it went down.
.... and though I photographed Andrea Riseborough's parents when they entered the cinema (her PA introduced them!), and Andrea Riseborough did attend, I didn't get to photograph her as she apparently entered via another entrance (though I did here and here at London Film Festival).... but the biggest disappointment was in Steve Buscemi not turning up to the premiere despite being in town...
So... that was that, and very little more than that. Needless to say I missed my train home by the requisite 30 seconds, and immediately after its departure the next one was announced "delayed" .Thanks for that, a55holes.
Still... another premiere for the Archive, another Cinema for the brain bank, and another event to embellish into something sexier and more vital than, between you and me, it probably was.
Until next time!
