Last Friday, after learning at the Mission Impossible premiere that wristbands for Monday's "Mamma Mia 2" premiere would be given out on SUNDAY, rather than on Monday morning (which would have been impossible for me).... I took a 1hr+ rail replacement bus and tube ride to be 59th in the queue on Sunday morning. Then, after waiting slightly over an hour, I randomly selected a pen based purely on "it's a pen the autograph dealers don't want, and that's good enough for me", and got myself wristband #5 in Pink Pen.
And then, within less than a minute of getting into that pen on Monday... I realised I'd made a mistake. Here's how it went down, and how it turned out not to matter:
And after a few more minutes waiting for the remainder of the carpet to clear, that was that. And I have to say that this was a pretty fantastic event. From having a sub-standard pen turn out to be one of the most coincidentally lucky pens ever, to being basically dealer and crush-free at a world premiere, to having two people so charismatic that they were the only people in our whole long pen to get EVERYONE'S signature, and do it with a smile and gratitude - you can't ask for more than that. This was a good one, and I can't wait for the next one.....
... which is scheduled for October, some three months from now. Ummmm..... I think my Archive of Premieres might get a bit hungry if it's not fed before then.
Until next time!!
ps. if you're optimistic, and want to know whenever I post one of these journals, feel free to follow me on facebook at premieresdotco, or on twitter at berndt2_photo. Or just use your magic powers to find me at a premiere sometime. Or be.... you know.... Lily James, or a reasonable facsimile thereof.
