March 15th, 2018.
According to the spreadsheet upon which I keep track of all past, present and future events, this is my 500th 'official' Event ('official' in this context meaning that I'm still a member of the public with no official status whatsoever). And I suppose it's appropriate that for the five hundredth event, it was not technically a premiere, it did not involve wristbands, and it did not even have an outdoor red carpet. It was an indoor-only event, closed to fans and onlookers, with even the windows blacked out to 'discourage' unauthorised views, and a small alleyway serving as the stars' entry into the cinema's side entrance was the only way to photograph them.
I guess some days you gotta bring your own party to your 500th.
Here's how it went down:
So... that was that. Not exactly the glitz and glamour of a World Premiere, or a larger event like the original 'Pacific Rim's premiere was back in 2013... but it was some kind of thing, and some kind of thing is exactly the kind of thing I've been doing in London for some time now. For 500 times now.... as evidenced by the mighty Archive of Movie premieres.
And then..... there's an event on the coming Sunday, and another one next Monday.... so there's no immediate plans to rest.
Until next time!
