PREMIERES IN 2018

So once again I had the good fortune (and in some cases the photographic equipment) to pursue this crazy unpaid hobby of mine, and overall it wasn’t too bad a year for that. Mostly….

FEBRUARY: I missed January due to being in Australia, but February provided an unexpectedly HUGE premiere, an(other) insult from Marvel/Disney, and the biggest insult of all from BAFTA. Not a good month, and also certainly a strange one.

February 6th. And there is no way I would have predicted that THE MERCY would give me over 2x more twitter views than any other premiere this year, and more view than any premiere I’ve EVER covered! And why? I’m still not sure….

February 8th. When Disney/Marvel hold a European Premiere, punch yourself in the face because Disney/Marvel won’t even bother to. Hence, a movie about a Black Superhero gets a premiere that is NOT INCLUSIVE. Stay Classy, Disney.

February. Sadly, sickness prevented me from attending more than a single day of London Fashion Week 2018.1 this year. (luckily there is a second week)

February. The Ba5tards at BAFTA celebrated making wristbands more accessible than ever by releasing less wristbands than ever…. and I missed out on getting in by NINE F&CKING places. F&cK you Bafta.

APRIL : A quieter Month, but not a bad one:

April 5th : once again I feel I should query how far I’ll go to attempt to photograph what might be called a ‘premiere’ - in this case, for “A Quiet Place”

… So, that was 2018. Will I do it again in 2019? Ummm…. yeah. I hope so.

It might end up being a bit of a swansong year, but that might mean I’ll put all the effort I can into it…

Until next time!
