Six premieres in one day? Sure… why not…. just gotta keep ‘em brief and to the point.
Here’s how the second went down….
“He’s behind me… isn’t he?” Good news, the possible hero of the prior journal (for “For We Are Many”) appears to be doing well in the high-heat, high-humidity environment a combination of global warming, struggling aircon, and heaving crowds at Frightfest have created.
“Totally not popcorn…. they’re fried entrails. Of things you wouldn’t want to eat, so I felt it best not to offer to share them with you. So you don’t get offended.” I won’t share jelly bellies for much the same reason.
Frightfest’s Day 1 began with a man wearing a truly terrifying Hawaiian Shirt … but today is Day 5, and things have gotten seriously depraved and harrowing now….
It’s Mackenzie Crook! He’s best known for playing the pirate “Ragetti” (the one with a wooden eye) across three Pirates of the Caribbean films, as well as six episodes of Game of Thrones and… well… check out his imdb….
“He’s got a good side, and I’ve got a good side…. we don’t know which is which but maths tells us there’s for possible combinations. Can you make it work?” Abigail Blackmore (at right) is the director of ‘Tales from the Lodge"‘
“It’s meant to be a baseball signal, but I adapted it for frightfest. But I can’t tell you what it means… not without everyone else here figuring out the code”
“There! Thos guys are running a DVD stand at frightfest that’s selling copies of “A Fish Called Wanda”. Great film… but at Frightfest??”
“Well, sure I’m feeling okay, but I’d feel slightly more okay if your camera wasn’t quite so close when you asked me how I was feeling… it’s quite intimidating”
“I like “A Fish Called Wanda” as much as the next person, but they’re also selling “Withnail & I” and that movie….” - is massively overrated. (I decided I’d better say it rather than attribute the comment to Abigail Blackmore. Apparently people like that movie….)
OOOOOoOoOoOoooooHhhhhhh!!! Could it be a list of all premieres today, and their timings, and their attendees???? (and can I sidle close enough to it to photograph it properly….?)
“Why did I have to say “It’s Complex”. It’s really not. Not even slightly….”
“Yes, you’re literally the first person to get me to sign “The Man Who Fell In Love With A Traffic Cone” merch…. also I didn’t know they did Merch. Or that you could just get away with getting a traffic cone off the street…”
