(FLASHBACK) : 'The Hangover (2009)' 10th Anniversary in Redcarpetmonochrome

June 10th, 2009/2019.

Can it really be ten years ago that the groundbreaking Hangover Trilogy began with its first drunk-amnesia follies? Sadly so. The original journal (with commentary) is here, and while I did miss the second film’s launch I also went to the premiere of Hangover III and its journal (with commentary) is here.

As for the first film? Best of the three, and owing to the colour (and thinness, and slinkiness) of Heather Graham’s dress, it was quite the experience to re-edit.

Mild parental advisory, then … and/but if you’re viewing it in a place of work, just tell them that if it’s in Black’n’White, then IT’S ART, MAN!

So…. that was certainly that. And it joins other Redcarpetmonochrome 10yr retrospectives like “Watchmen”, “Fast & Furious”, “Star Trek” and “Tormented”.

Next 10yr anniversary Redcarpetmonochrome : TRANSFORMERS REVENGE OF THE FALLEN. Aw… man….

The 2013 BAFTAs : Red Carpet / Monochrome

February 10th, 2013.

Of all the Baftas I've been to, the most memorable was probably 2013 : the one that was cold AND where it rained AND sleeted AND snowed. What's more, since that one, they've made most of the red carpet fully undercover, thus ensuring these kind of precise circumstancess are unlikely to recur.

Photographically, it was tricky. Dynamic range and detail reduce when there's more stuff in the air, and with bright lights shining on the carpet, the contrast is even more reduced. But all that aside, I still put these Baftas down as one of my favourites to photograph...
